1 -  Can I get steam on every heat setting?

Yes because the steam is generated separately you can steam iron even on the lowest one dot heat setting, e.g. silks.




2 -  Is scale a problem?

Build up of scale is prevented because the heating element is on the outside of the water tank. However, the tank should be rinsed out every ten uses to get rid of any scale that might be present. The tank is in stainless steel, which means the scale will simply rinse out.




3 -  Isn't it dangerous to have water and electricity cables joined?

No. Both cables are independently insulated and protected and rigorously tested. However, you should be aware of any damage to the cable and have it repaired by our approved service centre immediately.




4 -  Steam is generated under pressure. Could the unit explode?

No. The pressure is 4 bars, which is relatively low, but there is an emergency steam valve release as extra insurance. In addition the boiler is stainless steel so there is no risk of corrosion over time.




5 -  Tips to take care of your steam station:

- Rinse and drain the boiler every 10 uses to get rid of any scale that might be present
- It is not advised to de-scale the boiler because it could deteriorate the interior coating and could provoke grey steam.




6 -  What is the difference between a steam generator, a steam station and an ordinary iron?

A steam generator is the most powerful iron that generates vast amounts of powerful steam in a separate boiler unit and pumps that steam constantly and consistently through the iron's soleplate straight into the clothes. The benefit is that this halves your ironing time and produces fantastic ironing finishes.
A steam station is similar to an ordinary iron but has a larger water tank. The water is pumped up to the iron and the steam is generated in the iron not a separate boiler unit. The steam output is constant but not as powerful as a steam generator.




7 -  What water should I use?

Irons are specifically made to use tap water. Please do not use pure demineralised water, water from clothes dryers, scented or softened water, water from refrigerators, batteries or air conditioners, pure distilled water or rain water as these may damage the iron. It is advised to rinse the boiler abundantly after each use of tap water.




8 -  Why do you need a good quality vented ironing board?

Because of steam generators powerful performances they are significantly larger than standard irons. Therefore the boiler units need to stand either on a work surface or on a good quality balanced ironing board. Steam Generators, by definition, generate a huge amount of steam, directed into the garments on the ironing board. Therefore the ironing surface has to be vented to prevent clothes from becoming damp.
